- Sunday Morning Service
-
Our morning service starts at 10:15am every Sunday except
Christmas Day, when it starts at 9am. The service is our main meeting
for the week, and it is reasonably traditional in style. We sing songs
and hymns, celebrate God's love for us and our love for
him, and enjoy ourselves in his presence. We remember Jesus by
celebrating the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) every week, as he
commanded us; and anyone who trusts in Jesus in his or her heart is
welcome to join in, no matter what background you are from. Each week
we hear a message, most often from the minister, but also from
other people in the congregation, or from an invited speaker.
Children are welcome at this service; during school term time, we
provide crèche and Sunday School activities for those who wish.
There is a window from the foyer into the chapel, and it is
connected to the sound system, so that children can do things under
parental supervision without the parent(s) having to miss out on
what is being said in the service.
After the service we meet over coffee, tea and cake, usually winding up
around midday or soon after. Several of us then go off for lunch
together in a local cafe.
- Sunday Evening:
Gathering
-
- On Sunday evenings (except July 18th-August 1st 2010, and all
January 2011) we meet at 7pm for an informal gathering, which includes prayer and
often singing as well. The format is very flexible, and
everyone is encouraged to come along with a discussion topic, song, prayer, or
a story to share. But feel
free to come along anyway if you just want to find out what goes on!
We finish with refreshments around 8pm.
