- Sunday Morning Service
-
Our morning service starts at 10:15am every Sunday except
Christmas Day, when it starts at 9am. The service is our main meeting
for the week; we sing, celebrate God's love for us and our love for
him and enjoy ourselves in his presence. We remember Jesus by
celebrating the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) every week, as he
commanded us; and anyone who trusts in Jesus in his or her heart is
welcome to join in, no matter what background you are from. Each week
we hear a message, most often from the minister, but also from
other people in the congregation, or from an invited speaker. After
the service we meet over coffee, tea and cake, usually winding up
around midday or soon after. On the second Sunday each month we stay on for lunch and
discuss the message, and many other things, in a relaxed way.
- Children are welcome at this service; during school term time, we
provide crèche and Sunday School activities for those who wish.
-
- Sunday Evening: Monthly Evening Service
-
- On the first Sunday of each month we meet at 7pm for an informal
service of prayer and praise. The format is very flexible, and
everyone is encouraged to come along with a song in mind, a prayer, or
a story to share about how God has been working in your life. But feel
free to come along anyway if you just want to find out what goes on!
We finish with refreshments around 8pm.
- Sunday Evening: "Shall We
Pray"
-
"Shall We Pray" is a fortnightly meeting at 7pm on
the second and fourth Sundays of each month, which grew out of a series of discussions on
prayer, what it is, why we do it, and ways of doing it, originally
called "How We Pray". It isn't really a 'service', but can
be very worshipful nevertheless. The meeting commences with a time of
discussion of issues, after which we focus on God by means of a
reading, meditation, or reflection, and then move into intercessory
prayer for the issues that were discussed earlier. A final reflective
prayer ends the formal meeting around 8pm, but as always, we finish up with refreshments!
