Parkdale Church of Christ is a small, family-oriented church with emphasis on
teaching from the Bible and participation by the congregation in leading
worship. We strive for an open-minded presentation of issues that challenge us today,
so as to help our members apply their faith in a relevant way for the 21st
century. We recognise that not everyone is at the same point on the journey
of faith, and provide for different needs. We also have a variety of activities
for those who prefer doing things rather than talking about it!
Music and singing are important to us, and we are very fortunate in having
gifted musicians amongst our congregation. We use a mixture of lively modern and
traditional hymns and songs in our services, together with more reflective
material at appropriate times such as in preparation for Holy Communion.
Our services are followed by coffee, tea and cake, and we do our best to make
visitors welcome during this time as well as during the services themselves.
Many of us have experienced feeling 'lost' among all the people in a large
church, and we hope never to do this to you!
We also meet during the week in a variety of ways. Some of these are
community-oriented events, with activities of different sorts that seek to build
relationships as part of our commitment to live out the Christian life in the
world.
